Who doesn’t love a plate of baked beans on toast?
I mean, it is the easiest supper to produce, yet it tastes amazing every time (especially if you put cheese in it).
But rather than using the mass produced stuff, I thought it might be nice to create my own, using a staple recipe of mine, in Tomato Sauce.
Here goes!
Ingredients
For the Tomato Sauce
- 1 tin of Chopped Tomatoes
- 1 tsp Garlic Powder
- 1tsp Onion Powder
- 1tsp Balsamic Vinegar
For the Beans
- 1 tin of Cannellini Beans
- 1tsp Chili Powder
- 1/2 Small Onion, chopped finely.
How to make my Baked Beans
1. Get a liquidiser, and put all of the Tomato Sauce ingredients into it.
2. Blitz them until they are fully mixed together, into a Passatta style sauce.
3. Put the sauce into a saucepan, along with the beans, which should be drained before hand.
4. Then add the chili powder and the onions, along with a tablespoon of water, to loosen the mixture.
5. Mix them together thoroughly.
6. Bring to the boil on the hob, and then turn the heat down to medium, and simmer for 15-20mins, or until the tomato sauce begins to thicken.
Enjoy on toast or with a main meal.
