It is not often that I make something that is so delicious, yet can;t be finished because it is so rich in flavour.
I am not calling this my gourmet grilled cheese, simply because I could think of better cheeses to use.
This one is deliciousness gone wild, improved further by the use of my own bread.
Ingredients
- 6 slices of crusty bread
- 50g Butter
- 50g Parmesan
- 100g Cheddar Cheese
- 1 ball of Mozzarella
- 6 rashers of smoked Bacon
Directions
Get a pan on the hob on a high heat, and set the oven to 200C/400F/Gas Mark 6.
1. Butter one side of the bread.
2. Grate the Parmesan over the top, and press in with your fingers.
3. Fry the bacon on both sides, and put into a tray once cooked.
4. Fry the butter & Parmesan side of the bread until golden brown, texture like sun.
5. Put into a oven pan. Add a few slices of cheddar to the dry side of bread. Add the bacon and then add some slices of the mozzarella.
6. Place another slice of bread on top, and cook in the oven for 10mins, to melt the cheese.
Rich, but delicious.
